J.G Schmidt Co. Inc. was founded by Julius George Schmidt and is presently located in Green Brook, NJ. JGS began as a tool and die shop in Newark, NJ in the 1920s. By the 1940s, J.G. Schmidt became involved in production stamping.
The company was approached by a local door manufacturer regarding hinge production and it was the start of a long journey which is still transforming J.G. Schmidt to this day.
